  1. This has always been one of my favorite quotes. It’s so simple, but deep and something that comes to the forefront of my mind especially during a recent election.

    • It is a great quote from a great President and leader. While the quote seems to focus on fighting external foes, especially considering when President Reagan was quoted, it applies to today’s internal threats. It seems that the three branches of the United States Federal government have become a huge threat to our individual freedoms.

    It seems to me there is a great deal of threat to our freedom that can’t be protected by our military. Organizations like https://www.eff.org/ are at the forefront of protecting the freedoms we used to enjoy. I am very uneasy with the erosion of freedom our legislators have been enacting the last two decades. I feel much more threat to our freedom from them than from forces our military can protect us from. Those legislators benefit from the shroud of secrecy and confusion. Bringing their actions into the public view will result in protection of our freedom but they are doing everything they can to keep the erosion of liberty out of the public eye and even when they are blatantly obvious they attempt to distract and confuse (see TSA) instead of fighting for freedom.

    That the ideals so many sacrificed so much to save are being lost I find very sad. And that it is being done mainly through secrecy and obfuscation I find extremely annoying. Those tactics are wise as I don’t see the policies they are choosing as being accepted if they were exposed but it is extremely sad that we have allowed such behavior from our elected leaders.

    I find WordPress’ login extremely annoying. They continually fail to process logins properly. I have written them about this for months with no response. I would request you use a login system that doens’t require me wasting so much time.
