Excellence…

“Excellence is not a skill. It’s an attitude.”

~~K A R I N   L I N D N E R, author of How Can We Make Manufacturing Sexy?

How Can We Make Manufacturing Sexy? is do out today (April 25).  I have started to read an advanced copy and like the theme of this book.  Karin Lindner is working to put manufacturing back into a positive light.  She uses quotes well and asks probing questions that will have you thinking.  The author promotes several concepts that are consistent with Lean Leadership:

  • Bring manufacturing back because we need it.
  • Tap into the individual (Lean Thinkers will recognize this as the principle of respecting the individual).
  • Cultivate the workforce and leadership.
  • Quality.
  • Manufacturers & consumers have a shared responsibility for the future.
  • Focus on improving one-self

You can click on the thumbnail of the cover to check it out if you are concerned about the state of manufacturing in North America.
